Start by coming to a meeting. You will see people just like yourself working to make a difference in our local and national community. Lend your support just by your presence, or volunteer for a committee. You will be welcomed as a guest, and once you see us at work and play, we think you will want to join.
Membership DUES & Benefits
Any registered voter residing within the 27th District who declares him/herself a Democrat may become a member upon payment of dues, presently $27 per calendar year ($15 if limited finances), renewable in January each year. Click here for a Membership Form (optional). Bring dues to a meeting or mail them to: 27th District Democrats, P.O. Box 1532, Tacoma, WA 98401-1532.
Membership allows you:
- Voting rights at 27th LD Democrats meetings (except for certain matters voted on only by PCOs)
- Participation as a committee officer or member, and
- A say in the shaping and framing of Democratic Party policy within the 27th LD.
Membership funds are put to good use, for example:
- Postage and mailing supplies
- Printing, copying, and office supplies
- Public speaker fees (rarely needed)
- Funding PCO training and recruitment
- Website expense
- .....and most importantly, supporting candidates for public office!
No funds are ever used for salaries. All members of the 27th LD Democrats are volunteers. Elected and appointed PCOs are automatically members of the District, but are encouraged to pay annual dues, as well. Becoming part of the 27th LD Democrats gives you the opportunity to make a real difference in our community.
